Can business owners really refuse service to anyone?


Under federal anti-discrimination laws, businesses can refuse service to any person for any reason, unless the business is discriminating against a protected class.

At the national level, protected classes include:

  • Race or color
  • National origin or citizenship status
  • Religion or creed
  • Sex
  • Age
  • Disability, pregnancy, or genetic information
  • Veteran status

Some states, like California, have more protected classes than the federal baseline. In addition to the above factors, California adds:

  • Marital status
  • Sexual orientation or gender identity
  • Medical condition, or AIDS/HIV status
  • Military or veteran status
  • Political affiliations or activities
  • Status as a victim of domestic violence, assault, or stalking.


In general, "( refusal of service is justified in cases where a customer's presence interferes with the safety and well-being of other patrons and the establishment itself. )"

15 U.S. Code § 1681a - Definitions; rules of construction

Based on the Facts of 15 US code 1681a, Unwanted Renter is in NO way, shape or form, a "Consumer Reporting Agency". Unwanted Renter is a platform built strictly for "Like Minded Business Owners" who happen to strive for the same common goals of safety, security and their bottom line. This data base was built as a (Members Only) "Interactive Interface". It's a place for all, "Like Minded Members" in the same (industries), to share their past transactions and experiences they have had with customers who have "Violated/Broken" the rules set forth in the a contractual agreement set forth by the "Person/Entity" and signed by the customer. Unwanted Renter does (NOT) collect or share any information protected under the " FCRA ". The "Customer" may at will and at anytime, dispute any transactions or past experiences they may have had with the posting member/person and have that experience/transaction resolved and then removed/deleted within a timely manner.
Unwanted Renter in no way reports to any CRA's "Credit Reporting Agencies" therefore, will never effect a customers CCR "Consumer Credit Rating".

Within the fallowing 72 hours, we will send you the contact information of the person/business who has shared their past experience/transaction they have had with you, the "Customer".

Unwanted Renter platform was strictly designed so that (Members) "Do Not" post anything other than (their) true "Experiences/Transactions" with those "Customers".

Unwanted Renter in no way shape or form allows information sharing about someones; "Character, General Reputation and/or Personal Characteristics". (Only "Limited facts" about a certain Experience/Transaction with a past customer).

Disclosures to Third Parties


UR makes your member information available (ONLY) to other UR members via our online members only data base/software service.

UR will license to you the contents of the online database only if you accept all the terms and conditions contained in this non-exclusive, nontransferable, limited license agreement. Please read this license agreement (carefully) before using or searching the database. By using this online database, you thereby accept and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions, including the FTC rules.

This database shall be used for individual and confidential reference purposes only. It may be used (only) pursuant to the terms of this license. This database and the contents hereof are proprietary products of UR. The contents of this database may not, in whole or in part, be reproduced, copied, reverse engineered or disseminated, entered into any other computer/database, used as part of or in conjunction with a mailing list, or otherwise utilized, in any form or manner or by any means except for the user's individual confidential reference without the prior written consent of UR. This database contains names, (only, parts of) addresses, telephone numbers, and drivers lic of past transactions, with past patrons, whom entered into a contractual agreement with said member, and only the facts about any given transactions that have taken place (only) between the two parties are to be uploaded to this database.

As to the preparation of the database provided to UR by such members. Their presence in this database represents only that these companies, organizations, institutions are members in good standing with UR. UR does not endorse these members and makes no representations, warranties or guarantees as to, and assumes no responsibility for, the products or services provided by these members. UR expressly disclaims all liability for damages of any kind arising out of the (Unauthorized Use) of this database for (Unwarranted Purposes) and/or services provided by these members and with respect to any errors they have entered into the UR database.

Occasionally, UR may make limited member contact information available to customer requests via e-mail in order to give them a chance to resolve any issues they may have about said content.

UR engages third-party vendors to help us manage our web presence and allow us to better serve our website member base. Information shared with these third-party organizations is shared only as necessary for completing authorized UR transactions.
